Kevin Omwanza, a holder of a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Moi University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. At the time of publishing his first work, The Return of the Sun, Omwanza was pursuing a Master of Laws Degree at the University of Nairobi.

Omwanza hails from Gusii in southwestern Kenya where he was brought up in the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church. During his college years, he did a lot of soul-searching, reflecting on his faith, and his place in the world. All these experiences come to bear on how he perceives the world, and have a substile influence on his writings.

Omwanza’s academic interests span coloniality, democratic governance, and the theology of the colonized. During his free time, he loves reading, playing chess, and toying with ideas.
