Mary Njeri Kinyanjui

Mary Njeri Kinyanjui is a senior research fellow at the Institute for Development Studies, University of Nairobi, Kenya. She researches on small businesses, informality and social institutions and trade issues of international development. She has published in the International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small
Business and Journal of East African Development and Research and Africa Geographical Review. She has co-authored a book and written book chapters. She has been a visiting scholar at the International Development Centre (IDC) Open University, UK,   the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD in Geneva and NORDIC Africa Institute, Uppsala. Since 2007 she has been researching on the logic and institutions in economic informality with special reference to women and urban dynamism. Currently she has two research projects on women in slum settlements and the ubuntu economy. She is also working on a book: ‘women economic informality and urban dynamism’.
